Cross Country

We lined up at the start line, she picked up the horn and I knew the race was about to begin, "Brrrrrrrrr", I sprinted to the end of the gate, around the classes, through the different bushes and trees, up the hill coming 6th place knowing that I finished my first lap.

As I was coming up the hill I could see all the students in the distance continuously cheering me on it made me realize that I needed to really push harder and get all the points for my Whanau house as possible, finishing my second lap. I was thankfully placing 5th out of 24, knowing I could could do better.

My third lap flew by pretty fast, but I was still coming in 5th, I was on my last lap and as I was jogging I began to sprint my way up the hill passing Vea. I ran to Mia and Tiare who were giving out the marks and as I finished my last lap, I received a card from my teacher Miss Mules  and as my sweaty psalm turned the card around it said 4th place, I was very happy inside I just earned 7 points for my Whanau house and 1 point for participation. it was amazing

Immersion with Room 15

Pests.....
Yesterday in Room 15 with Miss Spencer we learnt about Pests. we learnt about how dangerous they are to our planet but most importantly to our plants, because of Pests we have a very low population of surviving native trees and bushes in New Zealand.

Pests were first brought to our country in the 1840's when the European settlers came to our country during the treaty of waitangi, the pests were brought on to the boat and came along with the settlers, and that is how they were brought and introduced to our country.

we need to kill or keep pests out and in captivity, and make sure that pests are out and deducted from our world.

Immersion in Room 11

"Bees, What do you know about bees??
Absolutely nothing", In Room 11 we were learning about Bees and Pollination, we learnt all about it's history and it's cycle.

I know that a lot of people just think that bees only produce honey, but they also produce a lot of other things too like fruit, veges etc. I know that there are female and male parts of a flowers like the anther, ovary, petals, stigma and so much more.

I know that bees are very important in our world and they should be treated with respect and peace.

Immersion with Ms Chaney

On Friday we had Immersion with Ms Chaney the teacher of room 14, we were learning about the plant cycle and what it needs and what it is. We also learnt that it starts from a seed then you bury it in soil, then you water it and put it in the sun or shelter.

We also learnt that it starts to grow a stem, then it turns into a beautiful flower, tree or fruit, it then germinates, spreads out and creates the plant cycle again.

We also had the opportunity to plant mustard seeds and now they are growing in our classroom.

Practicing for our Easter Liturgy

In these past 2 weeks my class and I have been preparing for our Easter Liturgy. It's arranging and organisation madness, we satisfiedly finished our script for our scene and are on the way to a polished and rememberale dance.

We have so many scenes like,
  • Palm Sunday
  • Last Supper
  • Garden of Gethsemane
  • Trial
  • Stations of the Cross
  • Crucifixion
  • Resurrection
We perform so many scenes, we enjoy reenacting the Easter Liturgy and are honored to fulfill the part of being included in all scenes.
